We all get spam, and I'm sure we all hate it.
Here at Survey-hunter, we take " spamming " very
seriously.
There is quite a lot of confusion about what
"spam" is. Spam is commercial email or
unsolicited bulk email, including “junk mail”,
which has not been requested by the recipient.
It is intrusive and often irrelevant or
offensive, and it wastes valuable resources.
Spam messages are the opposite of
permission-based email, which are normally
anticipated, personal, relevant and/or
associated with a pre-existing business or
personal relationship. Inappropriate newsgroup
activities, consisting of excessive posting of
the same materials to several newsgroups, are
also deemed to be spam.
Message to
Survey-hunter site visitors:
We care a great deal about the privacy of our
members and prospective members. The only time
you should recieve an e-mail directly from
Survey-hunter is if you are already a member of
our website. We deal with third parties such as
affiliates who promote our site for their own
material benefit. We do our best to screen all
affiliates and third party marketers who do
business with us. We also make sure they agree
to our privacy policy, terms of service, and
anti-spam policy before they can even do
business with us. However, ultimately we have no
control over what any third party does of their
own free will. Therefore, Survey-hunter assumes
no responsibility or liability for any third
party actions. If you believe you received any
unsolicited e-mail or mail you think may be
spam, please e-mail us at
info@survey-hunter.com. Please include a
copy of the offending transmission so we can
determine the source and take appropriate
action.
Message to
our affiliates:
Spam is not defined by it's content, nor it's
recipients. Spam is defined by its solicitation.
This means that unless a person asked to be
emailed then sending them anything would likely
be a violation of your hosts spam policy, and
possibly a violation of the law. It does not
matter if that email went to 1 person or 1
million. It doesn't matter if that message
advertises Viagra, teddy bears or the hottest
new e-book.
All it takes is one person to complain to your
host and they will likely shut your site down.
Don't think people won't complain either, some
people take pleasure in shutting down blatant
spammers. There are also services that automatic
the investigation and reporting processes.
So does that mean you can't send anyone an
email?
No, plenty of people solicit emails, you just
need to be able to recognize it.
For instance if someone puts a link on their
website that says "Contact us with suggestions
and feedback" then they are soliciting emails.
You could email them business proposals or
anything else without worry of reprisal. If the
link was worded "Contact us with suggestions and
feedback about this site" and you sent them an
email explaining how Viagra would help their
personal life then that would be spam since they
only solicited comments on their website.
So if you want to email someone make sure they
solicit contact somewhere, if not then don't
email them. If you just blindly email a proposal
to webmaster@domain.com it can cause you far
more trouble than it is worth.
At Survey-hunter.com we have a strict "no spam"
policy.
We take spam complaints seriously.
Any affiliate determined
to have spammed will be subject to termination
of their affiliate status and forfeiture of any
and all commissions they may have earned.
